Grillin' & Chillin' Wines

12 Under 12 Pack - $139.99

Charles Bove, Sparkling Vouvray: What a great hot weather sparkling from the Loire Valley of France! 100% Chenin Blanc with aromas of apples & fresh dough followed by a slight nutty creamy texture on the palate. Excellent with light hors' deurves or simply for toasting a special summer occasion.

Ch. Corroneau Blanc: 100% Sauvignon Gris from Bordeaux, France. A perfect aperitif wine served very chilled. Aromas of pear and mascarpone on the nose with intense flavors of GRanny Smith apples on the palate. Serve it with light summer salads or for greeting friends before the BBQ begins/

Lalanne Gascone Blanc: A blend of Ugni Blanc, Gros Manseng and Colombard from southwest France. Citrus aromas & flavors of lime, orange zest and a hint of sassafras. Grilled seafood and shellfish are the perfect pairing for this wine.

Cono Sur Riesling: This slightly dry 100% Riesling is from the Bio-Bio Valley of Chile. Wine Spectator recently scored this wine 89 pts. A delightful wine with aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, rose water, sweet lemons and apples. Very versatile with salads, grilled fruit and grilled Thai chicken wings.

Bonci Verdicchio Carpeneto: Made from the Verdicchio grape in the Marches region of central Italy. The climate in Marches is influenced by the Adriatic sea. This wine is a welcomed change from typical white varietals. Delightful nose of lemons and pineapple marmalade with full flavors of rich citrus pie topped with crushed toasted almonds. May we recommend a saute of olive oil, shrimp, garlic, shallots, and fresh basil finished with this wine and a little heavy cream. Or maybe a Tuscan bean salad and grilled chicken. "Indulge!!"

Joostenberg Chenin Blanc/Viognier Blend: "Say no more"...two white grapes that compliment each other. This wine if from the Paarl region of South Africa. It displays the obvious tropical aromas and flavors of Chenin along with the intense floral notes of Viognier. Be bold and try this wine with a variety of grilled seafood, grilled chicken and grilled vegetable dishes . Makes a great base for marinade. Definitely a crowd pleasing summer time quaffer!!

Virginia Wineworks Rose: A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc made by Michael Shaps in Monticello, Virginia. A hearty, but a refreshing Rose with fruity aromas and flavors of strawberries, raspberries, Ceylon tea and rhubarb. Serve it well chilled with grilled salmon or grilled dry rubbed pork tenderloins.

Reds

Villa Wolf Pinot Noir: From the Pfalz region of Germany. A nice light style of Pinot Noir works well with a slight chill on it. Delicate aromas & flavors of smoky cherries and fresh picked violets. Grilled salmon & herb seasoned grilled vegetables would be a great pairing for this wine.

San Marzano Negroamaro: Made from the Negroamaro grape in the Apulia region "The Heel" of southesastern Italy. Elegant and soft red berry aromas & flavors with hints of smoky oak and sweet tobacco. What a pairing for traditional foods from the Mediterranean region. Seek out some classic recipes and plan a meal around this wine. Lamb and veal might be a good start...hint, hint!

(All of the wines listed below would match perfectly with grilled blackened meats, grilled sausages, grilled steaks, hearty red sauce dishes, and don't forget a plate of cured meats & hard cheeses.).

Alamos Bonarda: From Nicholas Catena's winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Bonarda has Italian roots, but it has flourished in Argentina. The wine has intense dark fruit flavors with some notes of spice on the nose. Very similar to Malbec & Zinfandel.

Sexto Red: Made from a six grape blend from the Catalonia region of Spain. Very intense pronounced dark red flavors with smoke and dried herbs on the nose. Serious but easy drinking red wine.

Altozano Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend: Made by Gonzales Byass in the Castile-Leon region of Spain. This wine has a huge nose of ripe red fruit and dark berries with intense ripe red apples on the palate. Decanting this young red will expand and soften the flavors.
